1. The RDS-HN is the authority responsible for granting the registry of domain names under the ccTLD. HN.
2. The requirements and prohibitions set out in these policies for the establishment of second or third level domain names under the ccTLD. HN will be allocated according to the legal principle of "first come, first served".
3. The RDS-HN reserves the right to modify these policies if in the future the technical / political / business conditions are required, so that any user of this service is subject to the same.
4. Any natural or legal person assumes the right to request the registration of domain names in second or third level under the ccTLD.HN, if the domain name requested will be framed towards these policies.
5. Registered the domain name, the holder can create a hierarchy of fourth sub domains or a lower level.
6. May register a domain name of second or third level under the ccTLD.HN , any natural or legal persons, whether national or international, if the applicant is a legal person, it is an essential requirement that it is legally constituted to prove its legal status as Annex A.
7. Any holder of a domain name is responsible for the use and administration of those domain names and sub domains that are created.
8. A domain name of a second or third level under the .HN can be registered if it meets the following requirements:
a. The domain name requested is not registered
b. Fulfills the rules of syntax (Clause I, Number 1)
c. Does not fall within the Absolute prohibitions (Sub-I, Number 2).
d. Contains a written request by the holder of the domain name to the Registrar, placed on letterhead stating the purpose and use.
e. The Registrars agree that any conflict or dispute based on the use of a domain name is the sole responsibility of the holder of the domain name, thus accepting to release the RDS-HN from any liability resulting from the given relationship.
f. The Registrar agrees to provide within a period not exceeding 15 days, any information related to the enabled domain requested by the RDS-HN.
9. About Domain Names: RULES OF SYNTAX:
1. The only valid characters for a DNS domain name are the letters of the alphabet ( "a" - "z", the DNS is not case sensitive), digits ( "0" - "9") and hyphen ( "-"). 2. The first and/or the last character of the domain cannot be a hyphen. 3. The minimum length allowed for a first, second and other domain levels under the ccTLD. HN, are 3 characters. 4. The maximum length allowed for a domain of second or third level under the ccTLD. HN is 63 characters.
10. Absolute Prohibition: In no event shall a second or third level domain name be registered under the ccTLD.HN when the following is observed: 1. Consisting solely of a first level domain name (TLD's). 2. Consisting only of a third level domain name under .HN 3. Be associated in public and visible way to an organization, acronym or mark other than the applicant. 4. Refers to aspects of Honduras’ own government without the authorization to do so.
